  •  Teachers on Tour – Join Swami Lalitananda in Vancouver May 23-26 for workshops and events focused on Awakening to Light. At Simon Fraser University’s downtown Goldcorp Centre for the Arts she will join architect John Patkau for a keynote conversation about building the Temple of Light, Creating Luminous Space: Innovative Architecture Meets Spiritual Vision. Her Outreach tour includes Vancouver Island May 18-19 for two day-long workshops. Gather your friends for spring renewal with our president! Albertans can look forward to Outreach workshops with Swami Samayananda May 24-26 in Calgary and Swami Sukhananda is planning for her 2019-2020 tour in Europe.

  •  Indspire Awards – On February 22, Ashram long-term resident Charles Kieth McNab (Chuck) had the opportunity to attend the Indspire Awards in Calgary. This is a special awards event that celebrates Indigenous achievement. Chuck’s sister and bass player, Shakti Hayes, closed the awards evening with a talented group of Indigenous musicians, Joey Stylez and the Soaring Six who performed his single “Victory Dance.” Indspire is an Indigenous-led registered charity that invests in the education of Indigenous people.
  •  Learning Residencies – Learning Residencies are now open in the following areas: Food Flow – Growing & Preserving, Hospitality, Kitchen, Infrastructure, Lands and Groundskeeping, Digital Media. These three-month residencies blend career, life and spiritual development opportunities. The framework of workshops, reflective classes and daily work offer valuable experiential learning in a mentorship structure. Learn more.
  •  Award – Patkau Architects of Vancouver recently earned the Wood Innovation Award for the Temple of Light design at the 15th annual Wood Design Awards presented by WoodWorks BC. The Wood Innovation Award recognizes creative and innovative approaches in the use of wood in building design, product design and/or processes. See article here.
