Sheltered in a grove near the Temple, the garden features an 8-inch temple glittering in the sun. “When I told the girls about the Temple fire they were saddened by the news,” Elizabeth recalls. “Breanna quickly moved to a place of noble service. DECLARED FIRE-FREE

The Temple fire that started on Thursday evening, June 5th was completely extinguished by Saturday evening when the Temple was declared fire-free. We are all still processing our feelings and at the same time, there has been so much resilience on the part of so many. The local volunteer fire department and ambulance service were outstanding in their dedication, as was our very own emergency response team – organized, committed and effective. Karma yogis helped by remaining calm, re-starting water […]

Temple Fire

We want to inform our community that last night, Thursday, June 5, a fire started in the Temple, probably from a spark getting in the insulation between the impermeable outer roof and stucco ceiling. This morning the walls of the Temple are still standing and a shell of most of the roof remains. The fire was contained to the Temple and no one was hurt or injured. The fire fighting extended 12 hours and a small fire team is still […]
